Question #41

Do you take lessons? If you could take lessons in anything, what would you take?

I took clarinet lessons for about a month before Grandma realized that I wasn't practicing so that didn't last long. I took piano lessons a few years ago but gave it up too. I like to take exercise classes and one time crafting classes. I have taken a few card making classes. I enjoy going to the Relief Society classes that we have at church when I can work them into my schedule.

Took two years of piano - can't play much. Took tennis lessns - can't play much. Have taken Yoga -that still enriches my life. I'm currently taking classes in Shamanism. Just finished the first of four week-ends which correspond to the winter and summer solstice and the spring and fall equanox. It's VERY intersting. My teacher's lineage is from Peru rather than north American Shamanism. So far I have met two power animals whos essence are currently guiding my journey - the turtle and the doe. ("Woo Woo")

I took piano lessons for several yearsbut finally told my parents I wanted art classes. Whenb I was older I took several writing classes with Gladys.
For the last ten years I have been taking classes in a "real life situation" on "How to Live Amonst Crabby, Gossipy, Paranoid and a Few Stable People."

I took trumpet lessons from 3rd grade through 7th. (also counting school band as a lesson)

At university I needed a physical break so I took archery, raquet ball, diving 2 x's, and weight lifting in the PE department.

I now take lessons from Nadia. She is always teaching me something.

I took gynmastics as a child and am now taking dance and yoga. My next mission is to get my private pilot's license and to take classes in photography.

I took flute lessons my senior year in high school (I recently donated the flute to a low income school I work at...the cats just hate it when I play, er, attempt to play). I've taken lots of one-time classes for personal enrichment, from ayurveda to financial planning to dance yoga. Of course a gazillion years in college also counts for something. I'd love to have piano lessons and some dance lessons--tap, clogging, swing, jazz, whatever.

I took "dance" lessons for a year when I was about 8 years old. (Thank you, Grandma)! I wish I were a dancer, but not even close. I won't even take the dance type classes at the gym. Driving lessons. I took Yoga in college and LOVED it. I do Yoga now, and enjoy it, but it isn't the same experience. I always wanted to take music lessons of some kind, so I finally tried piano lessons as an adult. I think I went three times. I tried a photography class with a camera from the 70s. I was not successful. I took a Feng Shui class with my mom a few years ago. I think I would give photography a go again with the right camera, guitar lessons (Jesse keeps telling me he'll teach me), interior and floral design, healthy cooking classes, which are ridiculously hard to find, gardening classes, etc! I want to just know how to do things and be able to do them instantly without having to go through the whole struggle of mastering it.
