Almost 70 years ago Clyda and Veon were married. That union is why we are all here. This blog is created to capture our thoughts and help us get to know each other better. There will be a new question posted each Sunday until December. Please use contributors first names only. If you are posting anonymously please add your first name to the text. Enjoy!
Attention everyone...Marilyn has a WEB PAGE !! You can check it out at www.marilynsmithartist.com!
Nicole, please publish the following disclaimer in a prominent place:
I hesitated to make long narratives with these posts, but Nicole said she might put the whole blog thing into a book form someday, and I could use this as a forum for writing for my kids and grandkids. I can’t pass up an opportunity like that. So rather than bore you, feel free to skip anything you’re not interested in or don’t want to be bothered to read. Sonja
Note from Nicole:
I am happy to do this for anybody that is interested. I am enjoying hearing from each of you and would love to hear from more. Thanks Sonja for taking the time to work on this and giving us an opportunity to get to know you better.

I love summer. The hotter the better. I love the fresh fruit and vegtables. I love that school is out. I love to spend late nights at the park until dusk or swimming outside when it is really hot. I also like going to farmer's markets.
Fall is my favorite. It's still warm enough to be outside but not blazing hot. I love the changing leaves and the smell of fall in the air.

If fall didn't mean winter were coming, I would love fall most. I absolutely love summer, though. I love that the days are longer, the sun shines, everything is green and alive, and the nights are warm enough to visit outdoors. Summer means BBQs, socializing, camping, and relaxing. I already miss it!

I love spring for all the cliched reasons: New life, new start, etc. I always loved the millions of wild flowers that bloomed on the hillsides in Missouri. I loved all the many varieties of birds in Missouri that came back in the spring, especially the Whip-poor-will because Daddy said it heralded my birth. I love the blossoms and their perfumes - the Redbud trees and Dogwoods.
But I love autumn too. The Ozarks are as glorious in the fall as in the spring. And fall has always been associated with going back to school, and I loved school. And, too, it’s Ve’s birthday. Also, spring and fall are the rainy seasons. I love the rain.
But I also love long summer nights, and crickets and fireflies and fireworks. And there’s nothing like the first big snow. It makes you feel all quiet and cozy and snuggley. I love that! I just love living where we have four distinct seasons. (I "love" a lot, huh? And I "fall in love with..." a lot, huh? And it’s usually irrationally and irrevocably. Not a bad place to be, I guess).
It isn't January! I think spring and summer where you can watch the flowers grow and enjoy them.
Clyda
