In elementary school, I went to Windsor Dairy and a couple of parks. On field trip days mom would let us have potato chips and a twinkie or snowball. Those were special treats. Guess it was all about the food....
In High School, Lagoon was the place to go but my friends and I would go to the Great Salt Lake instead.

It seems like every year in elementary school we went to the Hogle zoo. It is probably the reason I hate to go to zoos to this day. Every year the Arctic Circle guy would come to an assembly and pass out free hamburger passes.

Don't recall any field trips in elementary school. In Jr. High we went to Sweet Candy Co. High school "last fling" was usually at Lagoon, but once we rode the Bamgerger out to Salt Air. I actually rode that rikety old woden roller coaster out over the water!

The best field trip ever was our dance team/band trip to Canada my junior year in high school. We did parades and generally had a lot of fun.
As far as visitors to school: I remember a former pro wrestler coming to our class in 6th grade to do anti-drug education. He had brought pictures of drug-addicted babies and told us how drugs had screwed up his life. It had a big impact on me.
