Almost 70 years ago Clyda and Veon were married. That union is why we are all here. This blog is created to capture our thoughts and help us get to know each other better. There will be a new question posted each Sunday until December. Please use contributors first names only. If you are posting anonymously please add your first name to the text. Enjoy!
Attention everyone...Marilyn has a WEB PAGE !! You can check it out at www.marilynsmithartist.com!
Nicole, please publish the following disclaimer in a prominent place:
I hesitated to make long narratives with these posts, but Nicole said she might put the whole blog thing into a book form someday, and I could use this as a forum for writing for my kids and grandkids. I can’t pass up an opportunity like that. So rather than bore you, feel free to skip anything you’re not interested in or don’t want to be bothered to read. Sonja
Note from Nicole:
I am happy to do this for anybody that is interested. I am enjoying hearing from each of you and would love to hear from more. Thanks Sonja for taking the time to work on this and giving us an opportunity to get to know you better.

I have always been told that I look just like my mom, Jennifer. When I worked in a movie theater, a customer knew who I was just because I looked like my mom. He was an old friend of my parents from when they were kids.
My hair is no longer blond (except that I color it blond), but my complexion and coloring has always been much lighter than both my parents and my three brothers. My eyes are hazel like my dad's and my grandma's (Sonja), but my brothers and mom all have big, beautiful, dark brown eyes. They all have very dark hair, too. I think most of my features are a total mixture of both my parents.
Jerilyn lightens her hair, and I have mistaken her in pictures for myself. She once said, "I don't look so bad in that one." It was me. SO bad? LOL
Mindy
I look a lot like Ve. And I hear he is handsome so my looking like him must be a myth.
Evan
Well, I guess my mother. The other day I got out some pictures of the two of us. I inherited her curly hair, her glaucoma, and her hardness of hearing. I also don't like to work with gadgets. They're like a foreign language to me.
Clyda
I have brown hair and green eyes. I often hear that I look like my mother.
Daphne
Oh, Evan! You look more like Ve than anyone - and you're both good-looking! Not even debatable.
Mindy does look like her mother, which means she looks a lot like Jerilyn too. People have told me THET look like me. My cousin Jon said at Daddy's funeral, that looking at my twins "Takes me back 30 years!" But others have said they look like Ve. And the granddaughter who looks most like my younger pictures is Alicia. I guess we just keep mixing the genes up in various combinations.
I don't think I look like either of my parents or any of my siblings. I do have Daddy's hazel eyes. I'm perhaps most like my mother. I have her shape (round), her nose and now, her beautiful silver hair. (Yes, I just called my own hair beautiful. Ya' gotta' take it where you can get it!) Sonja
I was at the airport when my friend was coming home from her mission and a lady that i had never met came up to me and said, "I don't know who you are but I am sure you are related to Rene Marchant. She was right Rene is Byron's older sister. I have also been told that I look like his younger sister Karen.
People usually point out to me that I don't look like anyone in the family. When I was a teenager I was convinced that I was adopted. I am the only blond, and the only one in my immediate family that doesn't wear glasses. My eye color is similar to my mom's. I definetely have my dad's sense of humor though (those of you who know him will know what I mean...Now that I think about it, that's also a Smith trait...)
