Question #48

When considering your personality, are there things about you that you would change if you could? What qualities do other people admire in you?

That's really the point, isn't it - the discovery of things about ourselves that need to change and working at refining who we are. One big one I'm still working on is the ability to let go. I'm better at it with some things, but still struggle in other areas. The process of meditation has helped me more than anything else to just let what IS, BE and not try to change what I can't (or what is none of my business anyway). As for what qualities others see in me, I don't really know, and I'm not going there, because I DO know some of the things people DON'T like in me. It all depends on who you ask, I guess.

Well, no. I'm pretty perfect... OF COURSE!!! Oh so many things, which I remind myself of everyday at work. It isn't productive...see there's one thing I would change. I would also like to be less timid and insecure, and beat myself up over every stupid thing I say and do. Also, I would not be so afraid of so many things, like flying.

That second question is very hard for people to answer about themselves. I've heard this question stated, "Who would come to your funeral and what would they say?" Am I the only one on this? Pleasant. For our Christmas Eve dinner about 5 or 6 years ago, Grandma (Sonja) had each of us write 10 things about each family member, and she cut up and wrapped the responses. It was big, warm fuzzys, and nice to hear things that I would not have thought people saw in me.

I will echo Marilyn's comment - Good question!

I would like to change the many times of speaking out of place.

Others admire me shutting up after I talked out of place.
